Souper Bowl: Soup for S.E.C.A. Children's Ministry would like to thank everyone who brought in soup the past 5 weeks. Our goal this year was 400 cans of soup in order to beat our 2007 total of 370 cans. (2006 total: 109) We counted the cans last Sunday for a grand total of...747 cans of soup! Yes, you read that correctly! The children's Sunday school classes will all enjoy donuts and juice today to celebrate giving to others. Congrats to the 3 grade class for bringing in the highest number.
The children from Karbururi are here. This is the same village where the SPC youth in Vacation Bible School sent school supplies. Each child sponsored helps that child, their family and the community rise up from poverty. We've received sponsorship packets for fifteen children in SPCs adopted village, Karbururi Kenya. Eight kids have already been sponsored... in one weekend! Please contact John or Chrissy Conway for information about sponsoring a child in Karbururi (540) 898-4168 or johnconway@earthlink.net.
