Easter Lily Sign-up Beautiful Easter lilies will adorn our Sanctuary on Easter Sunday morning. Sign-up folders are located in the Narthex and in the Fellowship Hall Foyer. Please print your name and dedication and place your check in the envelope provided in the front of the folder. The cost is $9 per lily plant. You may pick up your lilies after the 11:15 a.m. worship service on Easter Sunday. Questions? Please call the church office.
SAM Matinee at Riverside Dinner Theater - Thoroughly Modern Millie SAM is hosting this production at the Riverside Dinner Theater at 12:30 p.m., Sunday, April 13, for dinner and show. Refer to the February issue of the SPC Post for more details. The cost is $42 per person which includes the dinner, show and gratuities. Sign up with a check (NO CASH) made out to SPC for $42 and "SAM event - Riverside" on the memo line and place in the communication box (not in the offering plate) no later than April 1. This event will replace our normal monthly Sunday brunch.
Haiti Mission Trip Team Is Forming Now SPC will be sending a team to Haiti this summer! Dates for the trip are June 28 through July 5 or July 5 through July 12. We will be serving for two weeks, but you only need to commit to one week of service. New High School Elective Begins Today @ 11:15. Heather Stacy will be leading a six week discussion geared specifically toward high school students who may be interested in pursuing a degree and, eventually, a career in education. Find out ways and hear ideas on how teachers and administrators can work for the Kingdom in the classroom!
On the Edge @ Ligonier. Students currently enrolled in grades 5-8 are eligible to participate in "On the Edge," August 10-14. "On the Edge" is a week of camp at Ligonier designed specifically for youth groups and their leaders. We are currently collecting deposits. If you are interested in learning more please contact Tim Habecker at the church.
Fabulous Fun For Females!! Mark your calendar ladies, the 2008 SPC Women's Retreat "Friends and Flexibility" is April 18 and 19, right here at SPC. This will be a great time of fellowship and spiritual growth, and you don't even have to leave town this year. The cost is low ($12) and the benefits are high - don't miss it!
Communion Preparation Volunteers Needed There are sign-up sheets on the bulletin board across from the Upper Room for Categories 1, 2, 3, and 4. Each of the categories provides support for Communion services. Any questions? Please contact Andy Dorman, Elder for Worship or Ann Harris.
Christ Covenant Office Staff Position Christ Covenant is currently looking for a part time office worker (10 hours per week) to help with church publications, administrative duties, and communications. Candidates may be able to do a portion of the work from their homes. Periodically attending Christ Covenant worship services and/or Steering Committee meetings will be expected. Chili Cook-Off at Christ Covenant Christ Covenant is hosting a Chili Cook-Off on Sunday, March 9 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. The event will be held at Chancellor Elementary School. Feel free to bring your favorite chili and compete for a prize. There will be prizes for Under 18, Best Presentation, and Most Pizzazz. Or come and enjoy some fellowship (and chili). Think of a friend to invite and bring with you.
Attention Gardeners! The plant sale is just around the corner (April 12), and we need YOU to help! The entire operation will be at the Franklin's this year, 503 Lewis Street, and we need workers to pot the plants the next three Saturdays of March (8, 15, and 22) from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (or whatever time you can give us). All you need are gloves, pruners, trowel, and (maybe) warm clothes. Bring a bagged lunch. A huge amount of plants have already been donated, so there's lots of work. Maundy Thursday Service - 7:00 p.m. Communion and reflection on Jesus and the disciples at the Last Supper
Good Friday Service- 7:00 p.m. Prayers, readings and singing focusing on the sacrifice of Christ.
Easter Sunday Services - 7:00 a.m. sunrise service. 8:15, 9:45, and 11:15 services
There will be no Wednesday night dinner or program at church Holy Week or the week after (March 19 and 26).
