The Evangelism/New Member committee is seeking individuals or couples who are willing to serve as sponsors for new members.  Sponsors will help introduce new members to others during fellowship time and other church activities and encourage their involvement in the many opportunities for learning and serving within our family of faith.  Please contact Patty Lyons by March 14 by noon at 540-972-1815.

Easter Lilies  The Worship Committee will purchase Easter Lilies to be placed in the Sanctuary on Easter Sunday, April 4.  As in the past, you may purchase lilies in memory or in honor of family members, friends, or events.  Folders with sign-up sheets are in the Narthex and the Fellowship Hall Foyer.  The price per lily is $8.50  Payment is preferred in the form of a check made payable to "SPC" with a note in the memo line "Easter Lilies".  The Worship Committee thanks you in advance for your support in this season.

Port-a-Pantry Week 4 (March 10-16): Give up eating rice for the week. Buy a bag or box of rice and bring it to the church. Pray for the hungry of the world and for missionaries who are trying to meet the needs, for organization too.

Lenten Commitment Opportunity During Lent, there will be commitment cards in the Friendship Pad Folders. If you would like to respond to God’s grace with a tangible commitment – a confession, an act of devotion, or service, etc., you can fill out the card and place it in the basket at the foot of the cross in the front of the Sanctuary at any time during the service.

Bethany Christian Services of Fredericksburg is offering a free information meeting on March 16, 2010 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. The meeting will be held in our Fredericksburg office, 1616 Stafford Avenue, Fredericksburg, VA. Attention Gardeners!  Winter is almost over and the Haiti/Kenya Plant Sale is on April 17.  Now is the time to dig and split those perennials for potting.  We also need donations of potting soil and compost.  If you have a compost pile, we need good dirt.  Please email johnconway@earthlink.net or call (540) 760-1963 to schedule digging or dig yourself and deliver to the Franklins house @ 503 Lewis St. downtown Fredericksburg.  Please call ASAP so we can pot the plants and grow them for the final sale.

Parking at SPC If able, please consider parking at Minnieland or the doctors’ office any time after 9:00 a.m., until the close of the 11:00 a.m. service. Your willingness to park and walk is a ministry to others and truly appreciated. If your family drives more than one car to church, please consider using an offsite parking location for one of your vehicles. There is additional parking in the new gravel parking area in the rear of the parking lot.
