Announcements for the Week of February 5, 2012

Have you got a prayer this week?  Our theme of the week is “Jesus: The One Who Makes Us Whole.”  In his ministry on earth Jesus brought healing to all the different realms and dimensions of life- physical, spiritual, vocational, relational and others.  This was another sign of his power and who he was as the eternal Son of God.  But it was also a sign of the fullness of the Kingdom of God which Jesus proclaimed and initiated.  Throughout this week lift up this prayer of gratitude and commitment to the Lord.  “Lord Jesus, I praise you as the Healer and the One who makes me whole.  You and you alone have the power to bring life and the fullness of life to me and to this world.  O Lord, by your Spirit, bring wholeness to the different dimensions of my life.  Please bring the first-fruits of healing to my relationships, work life, spiritual life, emotions, and my body. Thank you for the promise of heaven, the place where there is perfect and eternal wholeness.  Thank you, Lord Jesus, for the great sacrifice you provided in leaving heaven and suffering death on the cross to bring the hope of heaven and perfect healing to me and to all who trust in you.  Help me to offer my prayers for healing with faith in you and with the goal of heaven in view.  Praise be to you, Amen.

Souper Bowl of Caring.  Did you bring your cans of soup? Drop them off at the box in the   Fellowship Hall foyer. Thanks!

From Beads to Ashes:  An Intergenerational Event to Begin Lent – February 22 is Ash Wednesday. We would like to invite folks of all ages to participate on that day in a program that starts with a little Mardi Gras cheer in the Fellowship Hall and then takes on the more serious tones of Lent. It ends with short service and the imposition of ashes in the Sanctuary. We    encourage everyone to attend the festive meal prepared by the youth (from 5:30 to 6:30) which will include pancakes, sausage, applesauce, and a traditional king cake. If you are coming just for the service please arrive at the Fellowship Hall at 6:30p.m. This is a wonderful opportunity for outreach, so invite your friends and join us!

Pray—Worship; Pray—Ask; Pray—Hope; Pray—Confess; Pray—Transform; Pray—Relationship.  Join us on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary as we pray with anticipation to hear from God and see Him move.
