It’s Coming: Youth Group begins Sunday, September 12! Middle and high school students will be having youth group at the same time, but that does not mean both groups will be together for 90 minutes…just depends on the week! Come check out the scene. Come play hard or just chill. Worship God. Laugh a little. Take a look at the Word and learn how to take care of one another…that’s the basic idea.
Wednesday Night Prayer Study. If you’re interested in joining us for the Wednesday night study of The Lost Art of Praying Together, please contact the church office or Robin Woodard (greggnrob@verizon.net) to ensure a book is ordered for you.
Our adult bell choir, the Ringspiration Ringers, has openings for two bass bell players. The bass bells are the biggest ones and are very heavy. If you have no prior bell playing experience, we can teach you bell techniques, but it is important that you read music. Ringspiration rehearses every Thursday from 7:00-8:30 p.m. and plays at services approximately once a month. Please see Susan Onderdonk for more information.
Are you called to teach or lead? We are currently staffing our children’s education program. There are many ways to help the youngest among us discover and deepen their relationship with God. Volunteering begins with prayer, then contact Jan about the possibilities!

The Not So Young but Still Restless (NSYBSR) Sunday school class will start on Sunday, September 12 during the 11:00 a.m. hour in the Edinburgh room (right off the kitchen). Bob Thompson and Jon Longenecker will be leading the class this fall. If you are familiar with Ray Vander Laan and his series, “That the World May Know” we will be showing and discussing the latest in the series (DVD #10) entitled, “With All your Heart.” The DVD jacket states, “In the book of Exodus, God warned the Israelites to remember Him when they reached the Promised Land. But when they finally came out of the desert the real test of faith was just beginning. This series is filmed on location in Jerusalem, Timnah and the Negev and it will transform your understanding of God – and challenge you to be a true follower of Jesus Christ.” What better way to follow up with Pastor Alan’s sermons on Exodus. Please contact Bob Thompson at 540-786-1451 or rthompson@freecongress.org if you would like to participate or for more information on “That the World May Know” series.
